Race Report 8 February 2014

Another day for great racing down at Twinnies, beautiful conditions all round.

Word from the marshals, Roger Campbell was stationed at Fraser and Amaroo Intersection and was surprised how wide across the road cyclists were positioning themselves.

Please bear in mind this section of Fraser Drive from the bottom of the hill to Amaroo is an 80km/h speed zone. Please keep to the left at all times, give yourselves every opportunity to stay safe.

It has been noted that the when marshalling the pink crosses, the marshal needs to be further up the hill so that if a cyclist desecrates the sacred pink crosses they can be clearly identified , subjected to massive fines , then stoning by the other members and finally hung out to dry.  Roger has offered his services to any new members having difficulty traversing this corner or any other, just ask him- he promises not to bite!

Milestones
John King finally reached 1500 races after some time away from the club.

Thanks to the warning posted on Face book by John King.  Tweed Council have installed rubber speed bumps at the intersection of  Botanical Circuit and Leisure Drive, where you come down the big hill and turn left past Coles. Be aware, ride to the conditions. Warning stay outside the white paint.

Tri Coach Des spoke on the need for those cyclists going early to ensure their front and rear light are operating. Common sense must prevail, everyone needs to ensure they take every opportunity available to make themselves visible to both oncoming and following  traffic.

I posted a link to the FB page on a new aussie start up business which has incorporated a HD camera into a rear flashing red light. The quality of the footage looks great, if you happen to watch the promotional video you will find out at the end it was all filmed using the rear flashing red light camera.

We are still looking for some parents to take over the Juniors. If you even a little bit interested have a chat to Scott any Saturday before the end of the season
