Race Report 11 January 2014
We are getting to the pointy end of the season with only 10 races left!
Where were you and what were you doing in November 1990, on 13th November 1990 the world wide web started, France performs a nuclear test at Muruora Island, Vocal group Milli Vanilli admits to lip-synching hits such as “Girl You Know It’s True.” & have their Grammy Award revoked and Rob Gillies competed in his first Twin Towns Triathlon Club Races, now some many, many years later he has managed a feat that only a few others have achieved ie Doug Neil and John Warren- 500 club races and not to mention the outside races such as Noosa. Well done Rob

Rob Gillies after 500 Races
Rob has served on the committee for several years and played a leading role in introducing and conducting the races for the Juniors. About 10 years ago was nominated and accepted as an ‘honorary life member’ of the club. Well done Rob
Another milestone was achieved today with Jenny Curnow completing her 100th club race.

Jenny Curnow 100 Club Races
Doctor Bike: Roger Campbell
We were fortunate to have 2 marshals oversighting the Pink X’s, one armed with a GoPro camera, the observation made was if cyclists failed to obey the road rules at this corner, is it a habit they take with them everywhere they ride- let’s hope no. Remember to share the road, don’t put yourself in a position where your safety is jeopardised.
Tri Coach – Des Gooda
A triathlon coaching clinic for intermediates and anyone new to the sport or keen to hear a few tips, will be held next Saturday 18th following the presentation. He is expecting it to take about 40 minutes – 1 hour. He will be hosting another run clinic in Kingscliff on 2nd February. Limited numbers (15 max) if you’re interested contact Des Gooda.
In just under 220 days(24 August) there will be a 70.3 race on the Gold Coast – entries are open See Challenge- Gold Coast to enter or more information.
Good luck to Mark Whiticker who will be competing in the Challenge Wanaka this coming weekend, for the fainthearted he has posted this to Twinnies Facebo0k Page
