A mostly dry morning out there today with 58 competitors racing under the handicap system again, resulting in some great times recorded.
Unfortunately, we had an issue with the timing system where not all times were recorded. Apologies if you were not given a time but we will get it sorted asap – big thanks to Amy Wright and Kent Holmes for manually operating the system again.
Of the times recorded, Simon Harradence (49.20) set a cracking pace with Tracy Foyster (57.08) the fastest female – congratulations to both of you
Great to see a few new and returning racers today – welcome to Dane McEwan for his first full distance race in years and Nick Fawaz for his first race of the season
After the race we had our AGM with a new committee voted in and a Q &A session with Twin Towns Chairman Brian Brown. At this early stage there is not a lot to report re the future of the pool. Twin Towns have committed to keep us informed and we will pass on any updates as they come to hand. We will push forward with approvals for next season on our current course in preparation for the season ahead, to ensure the Police and Council traffic management approvals do not lapse.
Club Championships – 5th March 2022
We will be running a regular race prior and presentation and breakfast afterwards with great prizes and raffles – we would love to have as many people racing on the day to really make the most of what could be the last race for a while.
Nomination forms are available at Saturday sign in registration desk for Club Championships. Due to the disrupted season, you will only need to have completed 2 races to compete. If you are an old member who hasn’t been for a while, you’re welcome to come down for the regular race starting at 6am. We’d love to see you.
