Twinnies Race Report 1 of 27

Welcome to start of our 30th season, it was great to start the season start off with a dry track, but we all know, we and everywhere else needs a big soaking of rain.

We had 74 competitors across the two distances, unfortunately we experienced a problem with the timing system with some chips not registering as you cross the timing mat and then a problem with the timing program. We hope to have it all fixed for next week’s race. As a result, no one will be handicapped and no points will be issued.

During the week, you may have received some correspondence from Twin Towns Services Club, if  you are a financial member of the Triathlon Club. All member are required to sign the new Waiver Notice and return same to the club in the reply paid envelope. For non-financial members you will also be required to sign the Waiver once only. You are also required to acknowledge the waiver when completing your on-line registration each time. Most importantly, is the information on the rear of the form- FAQ’s for Twin Towns – Personal Accident Insurance.

Special thanks to todays marshals, Holli Robards, Diedre Stein, Marcel Van Kempan and Clive Pearce. Your marshals next week will be: Craig Broadhurst, Simon Bradbery, Bobby Smith and Scott Bornhold.

Please help us fill up the Marshal Roster, we need 4 each week and for those marshaling on Race 4 19 October – Double Distance. You will be delivered a pipping hot cup of coffee/hot chocolate of tea- we are looking for three (3) more volunteers.

It was great to see lots of people wearing their new sponsored club T-Shirts, these would not have been possible without the support from our members and their businesses.  So please give them some consideration if you need any services they offer. Oculus Accounting, Tweed Coast Chiropractic, DGC Multisport, Coast Cyclery, AK Legal and Ideal Dental Solutions

Just a little bit of house keeping, You must stop at red lights. When running past the shopping centre, please be mindful of vehicles entering and exiting the two carparks. When you are placing your bike back on the rack, make sure it is in the right spot.
