“Mr TTTC” – founder and spine of Twin Towns Triathlon Club. Visionary leader. Passionate, totally committed, conscientious. Director of Operations. Loved being in control of all aspects of the club. Selected the committee members with great consideration. Recording technique amazing. Had time to be quick witted and funny. Provided many memorable moments for all to savour.

Kev Bannerman

TTTC Career: 616 races 12/12/1992 to 17/12/2022

“The Rock” – Whether you’ve done a single Twinnies race or hundreds of them, there’s every chance you knew Kev as the tall smiling bloke who always showed up, got it done and freely gave out high 5s on the run to any member who wanted one.

Kev was larger than life, a legend, loud and everyone loved him. He loved our teams memorial events and in recent years took ownership of the transition handover/dance which created more than a few laughs. Kev took on various roles within the committee including President, committee member, assistant treasurer and assisted Doug Neil with handicapping members.

Quiet achiever. Funny, quirky clubman who did lots behind the scene in “club building” activities. Leadership qualities always visible.

Nev Salmon

Most colourful, flamboyant IRONMAN Set the standard for outrageous, tri clothing and behaviour. Enjoyed competing. Calculated racer.

Gary Paxton

Quiet achiever with the Club’s best MOUSTACHE. Always dressed in distinctive white knee length socks and white running shoes. Nicknamed “The Flash” due to his running prowess. Committed trainer and racer.

Russell Evans

Honest competitor. “Mr Leadfoot”. Had great relationship with Dougie. Intelligent, sharp and clever, banter guaranteed every Saturday morning.

Absolute gentleman. Gentle, caring and polite. Quiet achiever. “Silent assassin”. Elder racing machine. Loved collecting, analysing and filing race “splits” with Ross and Joe every Saturday morning.

Smokin” Joe who could run very quickly. Total ray of sunshine, always smiling and happy. Loved the Tri Club racing and activities. Enjoyed exploring Australian challenges and football banter with our Poms. A pleasure to be around.
