Race 13 of 28
What a difference a week makes at Twinnies, last week it was wet and miserable this week absolutely perfect as a result we went from 49 starters last week to just under 100 this week.
As I sit here typing this report, I am wondering what some Twinnies members are up too, Heidi is having a crack at the Busselton IronMan- follow her results here Search Bib 1084, Shelly Roy is trying to get the Aussies to victory in Womans Handball World Championships in beautiful downtown Serbia, some are out riding, having breakfast or heading to the beach for nippers.
Congratulations to Terry Simpson as the weekly pointscore winner for November he was presented with the ‘Russel Evans’ Memorial towel.
The names of the five weekly handicap winners for the month of November went into the Twinnies barrel for $100 Twin Towns Services Club voucher. The nominations were Sue Baxter, Dan Smith, Kahlie Blair, Matt Kane and Gareth Bingon. The lovely president and todays Barrel Girl Val Lambard drew the winning name- congratulations Sue Baxter.

Tri Coach Des spoke on cramping and giving a hint on possibly the cheapest homemade concoction – Vegemite, someone from the crowd suggested rubbing it on your legs, Des recommended it on a freshly toasted crust, or you could take it by the spoon, either way Vegemite is a cheap alternative to those that suffer from cramps.
Dr Bike Roger talked about the sun and how it blinds motorists. As we rode up Fraser Drive many would have experienced the sun in their eyes, this would also be hampering motorists vision, which lead on to ensuring that cyclists stay as close to the road edge as possible to stay out of the way of cars.
Random Draw Winners
Ashton Saunders, Paul Somerfield, Trevor Lawes, Tom Courtney, Richard Mourant, Amy Nelson, Tony Worrad, Peter Harrington and Emma Hutley.

Behind the Scenes
Update of new computer program
Some of you may or may not know that the current recording program we are using was first developed by a member some 20+ years ago and is a DOS based program which requires us to use a Dot Matrix printed (tractor feed style) We have been fortunate to have the original developer Chris Goldstone re write the program into a windows based style. Chris has advised that after numerous attempts by programmers he is close to having a product to test alongside the existing program. What this will allow is electronic chips, uploading of everyone’s times to the internet plus, possibly a new website????
Starting Clock
We have made numerous inquiries into purchasing a starting clock which may allow the elimination of someone calling out the time every 30 seconds. Watch this space for further information.
Next week Holli Robards will be bringing you the weekly race report.
