We had a massive turnout today for the second last race of Twinnies season, maybe a few trying for the point score winner, or maybe and more likely because Julie Bloor was hosting another of her fantastic breakfast 9thanks for your efforts Jules, some elderly members were noticed getting in early- Kev. Either way the weather was perfect for racing with just over 100 competitors and 6 of those were first timers- two from as far away as Runaway Bay.
Some of our competitors were on the receiving end of comments from the Constabulary. Rachael Hodge was interrogated in relation to her role as a marshal on the roundabout of Darlington and Woodlands. (At a recent meeting with then secretary Dave Proudfoot and the Police, it was agreed that each marshal would have a mobile phone to call back to the recording desk if there was a problem.)
This officer questioned if she was running the show and whether she had a radio. And then, he decided to follow the breakfast host Julie Bloor and her riding partner John King and a brand new member. He allegedly made comments to this new member about bike riders riding two abreast, being the first to complain about motorist. These incidents were reported to the committee and will be followed up by one of the new committee members.
