With clear skies and a cold southerly breeze (wind) 79 brave souls commenced the 2011/12 Twin Towns Triathlon season, After getting into the water, not many wanted to face the wind chill factor. Coolangatta Airport Weather station was registering 6deg at 5:30am. Chris Watt’s bike computer indicated 12deg on the course, and many were complaining after the bike leg of ; i can’t feel my ears, feet, hands and Kev Bannerman it felt like he had an ‘ice cream freeze headache’.

Doctor Bike (Paul Woodger) was back with a few handy hints on checking the the bike breakdown bag and the tension on the bike skewers.
