The fourth instalment of our 2022-23 season had a few special moments.

Wendy Wise notched up 550 races.

Clive Pearce hit the century mark.

Wazza Copping won the first of the random draw prizes – $50 on his membership card to spend at Twin Towns Services Club.

And we did a 60-second deep dive into Stu Crawford’s love of triathlon (his first was in 2004 at Kingscliff and he had difficulty sighting on the swim because of the big waves), his love of music (Simon and Garfunkel), his dream superpower (to run really fast) and something he’s always wanted to try (being a helicopter pilot).

President Kent Holmes gave a thumbs up to everyone for having working bike lights on the front and back, BUT gave an important reminder for all members to follow road rules while riding the course. This includes looking behind you, and using hand signals, before moving in to a lane to turn right (for example from Dry Dock Rd into Sullivan St).

A reminder that the bicycle course will no longer include the Kirkwood Rd loop (left turn from Fraser Drive when you’re homeward bound) from this week. You will continue on Fraser Drive and then into Dry Dock Rd.
