Race Report 22 December 2012
The Inaugural Teams Event was by all accounts a resounding success. With the overnight rain long gone, we had some interesting Christmas outfits. The best dressed went to Stuart McGill, who was selected as a team runner and under humid conditions wore his outfit. Santa made a re-appearance after visiting the kids last week- word is he loved the warm weather in his non-breathing outfit!

We had 78 starters in the teams event, apparently some of the traditional rules were thrown out the window, some people (Scott Collins) jumped the start, others in lane 1 were seen to stop mid lap and turn around, there is also some suggestion that a swimmer wearing TH@C togs, a santa hat may have tagged his rider after completing only 8 laps then jumped in to finish them off???
To say it was an easy race, you just needed to see the faces of the riders after completing three laps of Darlington Drive, sheer exhaustion, there is also evidence posted on the facebook page of someone getting a free ride (drafting) around Darlington behind Broadie. It appears there may have been an equipment malfunction, Des Gooda our resident club coach took off on his bike, but in his haste to prepare his bike, inadvertently placed his shoes on the wrong pedals. He will certainly make mention of his error at the next transition clinic.
With racing wrapped up by 7:20am we had a healthy breakfast provided and sponsored by Kay, Les, Heather and Shannon Ball. Thank-you very much.

During breakfast we had a large section of random draw prizes, see the photos. ps some of these have been taken for the FB page, thanks Andrew.
Its back to normality next week, the last race of the year, we only have ten (10) normal points races left, then its the Club Championships.
MARSHALLS FOR 29 DECEMBER
Darlington/Woodlands Drive: Dave DQ de Closey
Amaroo/Fraser Drive: Jo Ward
Following last weeks request for marshals for both locations on 23rd February and 9th March, I expected to be overwhelmed with responses, but not one offer. Come on there must be three members that that have not volunteered that could help fill the gaps.
Back to some mindless trivia:
The first couple to be shown in bed together on prime time TV was Fred and Wilma Flintstone
