Well, we did it! We found a new location, jumped through the hoops and made it happen. Twin Towns Triathlon Club is now operating out of Tweed South Aquatic Centre, Heffron Street, Tweed Heads South (AKA South Tweed Indoor Pool). Many thanks to everyone involved with this transition; especially Kent Holmes, Dave De Closey, Scott Thomson who did so much behind the scenes. Thank you.
It was a beautiful cloudy morning, a little fresh for one particular marshall, but a great start to the day. We had 40 competitors plus 20 juniors and it was great to see the new Twinnies suits making an appearance – looking good Hollie and Simon! Also great to see Dr Bike, Paul Woodger, back in the tri suit and back in his stride.
We have sent out an email requesting feedback. Please take the time to complete this so we can really streamline our new process to enable everyone to have the best possible experience.
Overall reports on the day were positive, with most agreeing that the new run course was more enjoyable than the old. The bike was a little tougher and the swim was a little different with the need to count 20 laps for the full course. One member shared his method of tumble-turning for 4 laps then touching the end at each 100m. I think I will try that method myself this week. Thanks Adrian!
