41 competitors enjoyed perfect conditions today, with blue skies and no wind, resulting in good times all round despite a 4 week break. Simon Harradence backing up from last race at 49.41 – that 4 week break slowed him down by only 7 seconds! Kyle Mooney (51.37) and Christian Andrews (53.17) rounded out the top 3 – Well done guys! Mind blowing stuff for us mere mortals!

Thanks to Dave DQ de Closey for not racing and providing the timing for the day with Amy (and many others unavailable due to close contact isolation – including our usual front desk Registrar – sorry Kev, Michelle just wasn’t as professional with the money handling.

Next week we have our normal tri distance with a twist – look out for information closer to the day. Jump on and register now for what will be a good race.

FUTURE EVENTS

We have changed the date of the Teams event to January 29 so members can enjoy one more hit out of the regular distance before the Kingy Tri. The teams event a perfect low key warm up for Sundays race in Kingscliff – as well as a great way to meet and mix with other members in a competitive format

29 January – Joe Kelly Team Event.
A great way to mix up your season with a team event over shorter distances followed by an Australia Day breakfast

12 February – AGM – Annual General Meeting
Meeting where new committee is confirmed for following season. important for the club moving forward and if you have an interest in helping to guide the club then please nominate. More info to come on the AGM in a separate post but keep in mind the we need people to step up if you want this great club to not only continue but to thrive

5 March – Club Championships and Presentation
Last race of the season and an opportunity to race with traffic control. The nomination forms are now available at sign in for Club Championships on the 5th March. Due to the disrupted season you will only need to have completed 3 races to compete.

We will be running a regular race prior and presentation and breakfast afterwards with great prizes and raffles – we would love to have as many people racing on the day so if you are unable to meet the criteria let the President know and we can make a decision on eligibility.

MARSHALLING

Thank you to today’s marshalls Clive Pearce, Bec McLucas, Rob Gillies and Scott Wildin

Next week’s marshalls are Mark Collison, Rob Gillies, Sharyn Klein and Rowena Smith. Thanks Robbie for stepping up two weeks in a row. Great to see you and we appreciate your support.

We have 4 vacant spots towards the end of the season so if you have not marshalled or are unable to race and want to help out please let us know.

LIGHTS

Remember to check your lights are charged and ready to go for race day. It is compulsory to have working front and rear lights to race.

Have a great week, enjoy the sunshine and the border freedom and see you all next week for our race with a twist.
