The early morning storm and heavy rain lead to quite a few members preferring a sleep in than a wet race. Amazingly the weather cleared to allow a dry race, however roads were still very wet. The humidity was high so crossing the finish line was a relief!

Next week we will be running our annual Joe Kelly Memorial Super Teams Event that will be followed by the Australia Day Celebration BBQ Breakfast.

Super Teams Race Details

60 seconds with Kent Holmes

Kent is a long term triathlon competitor, entering his first race in 1984 where he competed in a triathlon at Currumbin. Kent has been a member of Twinnies since 2009 and has completed 138 club races. Kent was a student at Brisbane State High, drove a Holden and won a Go-Kart race(s). His family is his greatest achievement and he would love to one day try hand gliding. Kent is also the Treasurer of our Committee.

Marshalls

Thank you to our Marshalls today who were out on the roundabouts to make sure the race was run safely –  Ross Salmon, Joe Ward, Ben Hall and Manda Hall.

Next week is the Joe Kelly Memorial Teams Event so only two Marshalls are required – they are Rod Sewell and Sam Coleman.

We urgently need Marshalls for our Club Championship event on March 20 so if you are able to volunteer for this duty it will be very much appreciated.

There are also a number of other marshalling spots not filled so please put your hand up to volunteer if you have not yet had a turn. Thank you in advance!

Thanks everyone!

Tracy 🙂
