After an early morning shower to cool everything down we proceeded to have a dry race in almost perfect conditions. Kev did a great job directing cyclists through the shopping centre to detour the roadworks on the roundabout. It made an interesting change to our course and took the pressure off trying to get a PB! All should be back to normal for double distance next week.
It was great to have Laura Kelly visiting us from Canada with her friend Joanne. The two have been travelling around for a couple of weeks and are finishing their trip here catching up with many tri club friends. Laura is very appreciative that we remember Joe each year with our Super Teams Sprint on Australia Day.
Milestones
Congratulations to Jamie Stoddart who has been a member of Twinnies for 10 seasons and completed his 100th race. A great effort.
Wanaka Report
Darren and Michelle Jones have returned from NZ after their 70.2 race in Wanaka. Conditions were beautiful and the location spectacular and they both loved the experience. Darren said that maybe Cairns will be next……
They both said it was a great day out and highly recommend the race.
A fantastic effort Michelle and Darren!
