Besides the smoky air, conditions were good for our race with the wind having eased off and it not being too hot. With the festive season gearing up, participants number was down a bit with over 60 competitors.
A welcome to newies and visitors John and Dan Dewridge and Taku from Japan. Taku is in the business of bike tours back home. He really enjoyed our race.
The earlier 6.15 am start for the Intermediates was welcomed by participants. This change in time was incurred because of the increased amount of traffic with the later start time.
Some advice from President Terry who marshalled this week. He suggested at the Tooloona roundabout to not squeeze over to the left going into this small roundabout but ‘take the road’ without being unsafe of course.
Our light police Rob Gillies reported bike lights this week were good.
Please remember to check the marshal roster. We were down one this week. Thank you to Steve West, Warren Copping and Scott Collins.(Now Scott is a bit of a dark horse. He actually competed in our second race ever all those years ago. Must have been a mere juvenile!) Thanks Terry for filling in today. Marshals next week (15th Dec) are Sera Graham, Stuart McGill, Sam Coleman and Steve and Olivia Copeland.
