This morning quite a few people were probably scared away by the forecast. I was certainly expecting cyclonic winds and torrential rain and was looking forward to just turning up for coffee. To everyone’s surprise, conditions weren’t too bad – we’ve certainly had worse. Riding up Fraser was a little challenging as the southerly gusts blew down the hill as well as headwinds in a few other spots along the course. The roads were mostly dry with a little rain during the run. We had 34 competitors with a keen 15 completing the double distance event. Thanks to Kent Holmes for taking care of the timekeeping duties this morning.
Milestones
Congratulations to Joe Mollica for achieving his 150th race today – a great effort Joe!
Also congratulations to Sharon Klein who is one of our very long term Twinnies members for finally reaching 300 races (only after 27 years). Sharon is one of the best female triathletes that has competed at Twinnies and has won 9 Club Championships during her competitive years. Always great to see Sharon on the course!

Tweed Coast Eduro – Pottsville
Last Saturday we had a large number of Twinnies members competing in the Tweed Coast Eduro. Conditions were great considering the heat wave that we experienced in the days leading up to the race. Well done to everyone who competed in both the Enduro and Sprint events and a special congratulations to those who made the podium – Enduro Mixed teams – 1st – Des Gooda, Marcel Van Kampen and Danielle Lambert; Athena’s – 2nd – Kirsten Ellis.
