I think we were all blessed this morning, that the predicted rain deluge didn’t interrupt our event and by all accounts paved the way to near perfect race conditions as 41 people beat their handicap times. Dave DQ has had a field day adjusted the start times for next week.

On the timing system, it appears Dave has managed to eliminate all the gremlins from the timing system and other than a few chips not reading, everything went off well. We will be enlarging the exclusion zone and re-directing the aerials in an attempt to fix these few teething problems. Also a request from the Timing Desk, you need to make sure you get your shoulder numbered after you pay your race fee and, when crossing the timing mat, please call out your race number.

Just a side note, the benefit of registering on-line, whether or not you have been issued with a chip. Is that it allows Dave to ‘build’ the race on Friday afternoon, and then on Saturday morning add the few that did not register on line, saving everyone a lot of time. And those that haven’t been allocated a chip, the on-line registration triggers a chip allocation.

Click here, for  results from todays race.  In here, if you wish to see the correct finishing order ie 1st place down to last, you’ll need to click on the green tab on the left-hand side which says ‘overall’ then go across to the drop-down menu option ‘finish time’ and select, ‘adjusted time. Sorry Peter for bumping you from P1.  Just on the posted result times, unless you start at 0600, you will need to deduct or if you start before 0600 add on your handicap start time from the swim leg to get your correct swim time. The bike and run splits and overall finish times are correctly adjusted.

A big thanks again for our weekly marshals, who today were Kyle Mooney at the top of Fraser, Dave Emery at Woodlands Drive Roundabout and Des Gooda at Lochlomond Roundabout.

Marshals for next week are: Lisa Moore at Fraser, Rob Worth at Woodlands Drive and Tall Tezza Simpson at Lochlomond Roundabout.  I am looking for a marshal for the following week 20th October and one on the Noosa weekend 3rd October, please message me if you can help out.

The bike light police were out in force today and are prepared to issued infringement notices to 13 people who were out on the course without operating front and rear lights. Be Warned- next week a committee person will be at the bike exit point and will stop any cyclist whose lights are not operating.  Read it here – you have been warned.

Next week, it will be a bit darker, with the introduction of Daylight Saving in NSW as of 0200hr Sunday 7th October, whether you like or not, or live in Qld and have to get up an hour earlier, or worried your curtains will fade- get used to it.

Well done to our Random Draw winners – Ian Curnow, Wendy Sanders and Gary McKenzie and a big thanks to this weeks sponsors – Jeff Murray from Therapies on Boyd Sports Massage, Brendon Brooks from Coast Cyclery and Rodger Campbell from South Tweed SuperCycles. If you wish to be a weekly sponsor, please drop me a line.

A special shout out to Pete Nelson from Nelsonnetworks and Glenn Payne from the Stratcom who helped to sorted out some ‘backend’ website stuff during the week.

Stay tuned for the next update.
