Twin Towns Triathlon Club Race Report

It happened again, lousy weather overnight, with reports coming in that it was pouring at Elanora, and abating at Banora Point just prior to loading the car. We had a relatively good turnout. And still new members having a go.

Well it happened again, this time we are happy to invite two more members to the 300 race club, Viki Lawes and Dan Smith- well done.

Viki Lawes 300 Race member

Dan Smith 300 race member

See Scott’s Juniors report:

The 2011/12 saw myself , Kelly, Ginny and Greg Freeman take over the reins of the junior section of the club. Our maiun focus was to make it as enjoyable as possible for the kids as well as keeping it safe and smoothly run as we could.

We had 67 kids sing on for a race this season. Saturday 12th November saw our biggest race for the season. We had 37 kids race this day. Overall we averaged around 23 kids each week which was pleasing to see. At the end of the season we presented 24 trophies to the children who had completed 10 or more races. These were very much enjoyed by the kids. Another 3 trophies were handed out to Kynan and Caitlin Jones and Mollie Styman who completed the most races. They completed 16 out of 18 races held.

As with all clubs, parent help is always needed, and is sometimes hard to get. The races couldn’t have been held with the support given by Ginny and Greg each week. A small number of others also put up their hand each week to help out on the bike and run legs.

It was a great season and everyone seems as keen as ever for the next one.
